Shadow Shot Sunday - Jellyfish at The Aquarium of The Pacific

This picture was taken at the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, California. Jellyfish are beautiful, graceful, and best viewed behind glass. If you ever get up close and personal with a jellyfish in the ocean, a mixture of water and vinegar help with the sting, unless of course it's a Portugeuse Man O'War. (Totally love that name, it's all right out there- this is where we are from, that is what we are all about- WAR!!)

Here is my first entry into Shadow Shot Sunday, yet another photo meme. I had no idea photo memes would be so much fun and educational. I love all the stories behind blogger's photographs and have been treated to some great sights from all over the globe. Thank you for stopping by.

Welcome! Love your shots of jellyfish! When we were in Boston a few years ago the harbor was FULL of them - neat to see!

Neat shot! Jellyfish are so cool as long - as I'm not in the water with them!

I have a shot very much like this one taken at that very spot. Pretty cool! We took our first graders there about a month ago. Great field trip.

Wowie..great picture.

Kalei and I used to lay jellyfish traps in Micronesia...not sure if she remembers but she always tagged along :)

I know weird...but the natives ate them.

Why I think of this when seeing it...not sure.

Cool shots!

I think the jellyfish would be much better viewed in an aquarium that's for sure! :)

Beautiful shot!! I am terrified of jellyfish. TERRIFIED! Moreso that someone will have to pee on my leg to help with the sting. But still. TERRIFIED.

Have you ever been to the Monterey Bay Aquarium? They have a wonderful display of Jellyfish too. I've never been to Long Beach's Aquarium, I need to check it out!
