High School Here He Comes!!

Our oldest son is "promoting" from 8th grade today. In two months he will start high school. Holy Cow, how did this happen?? Four more years, then off to college. Didn't we just hold his hand and walk him into the elementary school for his first day of kindergarten? And now he is taller than me, smells like a man, and enjoys astronomy, the book, "Flowers for Algernon", and the political process. Our son, a young man, his own person.

Four more years, that's all Folks.

Congratulations to your son!

Just a little heads up for you... From my own recollections from when my daughter was in high school, those years FLY by faster than all those Elementary/Jr. High years put together!

E N J O Y it all!

So, wise spinner of words...how does a man smell?

Seriously- that is astounding. Jer and I just keep saying over and over as we walk Bear to school, holding hands, 'we only have a few minutes then she'll be grown...better hold on!"

WOW! You are making me nervous for mine to be growing so fast. Bet he is soooo excited to be going to high school. Freshman year is the bottom of the heap but least it's not middle school :)

It happens altogether too fast:)

Parenting must be like a a roller coaster. It takes forever to go up (toward their independence) and then all of a sudden you're careening down.

Congrats to your son!

My oldest is going into 8th grade. It does go by fast. Sort of ready for middle school to end though. My 2nd of 3 sons is starting middle school. Can you believe driving will happen soon?

Yikes! It does go by way to fast doesn't it!

I'm in shock that my youngest is 3...I'm going to be a wreck when he starts high school.

The days are long but the years are short, right?

Just saw you over at Randi's place! Thought I'd come back and see if you have posted anything new...

And to tell you to have a great weekend!

Wow, off to High School! That is so crazy. It's hard to believe that someday I will be experiencing that with Laura. As it is, we are lucky to have one more year of preschool before she's off to Kindergarten in 2010.

My little brother who was born was I was 13 is going to be driving soon and just finished 9th grade. Talk about crazy!

Isn't it amazing?! My oldest son is a year ahead of yours - he's going into his sophomore year - you won't believe the difference you're going to see over the first year of high school! They really do grow up way, way, way to fast!

Have a great weekend! :-)

My son's promotion ceremony is the 15th and then he too will be off to high school. Where does the time go? He's becoming quite the young man.
