Rainbow Connection for The Color Carnival

A month ago I captured this image of two rainbows on each of our sons' bedroom doors while they were sleeping. The rainbows were created by a prism that belonged to my late brother, Jim. I had put it on my office window ledge a couple months ago and was delighted to see this. My sentimental heart thinks it is my big brother come to visit his nephews. And who is to say it isn't?

If you crave more color, please stop by the Color Carnival. Thank you.

For fellow lovers of the song, "The Rainbow Connection", I hope you enjoy the music video, (only one I could find with Kenny Loggins original recording), and the lyrics below.

Rainbow Connection Music and Lyrics - Kenny Loggins

Why are there so many songs about rainbows
and what's on the other side?
Rainbows are visions, but only illusions,
and rainbows have nothing to hide.
So we've been told and some choose to believe it.
I know they're wrong, wait and see.
Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection.
The lovers, the dreamers and me.

Who said that every wish would be heard
and answered when wished on the morning star?
Somebody thought of that and someone believed it.
Look what it's done so far.
What's so amazing that keeps us star gazing
and what do we think we might see?
Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection.
The lovers, the dreamers and me.

All of us under its spell. We know that it's probably magic.

Have you been half asleep and have you heard voices?
I've heard them calling my name.
Is this the sweet sound that called the young sailors.
The voice might be one and the same.
I've heard it too many times to ignore it.
It's something that I'm supposed to be.
Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection.
The lovers, the dreamers and me

I can only bear that song when Kermit sings it!

My daughter loves to find the rainbows that come through the glass in our front door. It's one of her favorite bedtime delaying tactics - Look Mommy! A Rainbow! I like that your rainbows are your brother visiting his nephews...

Can't wait to see the necklace!

How sweet is that pic! I love things like that and to be able to capture it in a picture is awesome. I'm a big fan of that song. We have it on our Muppet 25th anniversary CD that is Phoebe's favorite.

How fun ;--)
I love the rainbows reflected on the doors and this song is one of my all time favorites. It used to be a ring tone on my old phone. Methinks I'll be humming it the rest of the day. I've missed a few weeks but did get my act together this morning and posted at Sacred Ruminations ;--)
Hugs and blessings,
