Last weekend, our family went to a few thrift stores to get ready for a costume bowling party. (Hey, what can I say? We know how to live LARGE!) One of our stops was at The Out of The Closet Thrift Store in Atwater Village, Los Angeles, California.
This is the entrance where it's not everyday you see a mannequin wearing a bikini and a gas mask.

These panels were hung from the ceiling throughout the store.

This Mona Lisa was my favorite.

I love everything about this peach pink mod dress, the color, the cut, the peekaboo neckline, it just says the early 1970s to me.

To see this peach pink in a gorgeous sunrise this week, please visit a Happily Retired Gal.
Any unexpected treasures come your way recently? Thank you so much.

Thanks for that Martha!
I bought a retro Tupperware harvest gold and white cake keeper for my MIL. HA! Also picked up a tape recorder for my son to play with and also to hear some of my old tapes with (I still have like 5-10 cassette tapes but no way to play them). I really hate when I go to a thrift store and see things that are no longer in style but are only few bucks that USED to be expensive at a time in my life when I could not afford them so never had them. Did that make any sense?
Should I say this: Momma Val's comment made sense to me! I love hunting in thrift stores. That looks like an interesting one...a little too far for me to travel.
That dress is soooooooooooooooo 70's. I think it was mine! LOL
what a cute idea with a costume bowling party :) so what did everyone go as?
have a great weekend!

I used to shop thrift stores in high school when the grunge look was at its height. I was very proud of my army shirt and gas station attendant shirt that said "Bob".
This is definitely more funky than the thrift stores I used to peruse.
Happy PS!

"Do these shoes match this purse?"
Cute dress. Bowling costum party sounds like it could be a hoot. I guess I live pretty large as well. LOL
I too love thrift stores and this one is very impressive!! I love those panels hanging from the ceiling!

Neat banners and adorable dress very retro!
I love the dress, LOL! Hmm...gas mask...does that mean a gas passer such as myself should get excited?

Whoa - pretty fancy thrift store and I LOVE the name! Great shots.
Hi !
Looks like you could do some serious shopping there :)
I also liked that pink dress.
What lovely vintage pinks you've found to share ... and I love the reflections in your first photo too. Thanks so much for the linky-luv and the visit earlier this week. Life's been busy and technology not so cooperative ... until today at least. So far so good with the catching up. Hope you've had a great weekend.
Hugs and blessings,
Amazing where you can find color! (and I can say that I have never seen a manequin dressed like that!)
I love that dress. What fun!
I miss those big funky thrift shops! Love the pics! Hope you had a great Monday!!
I NEVER find good stuff at thrift stores....but that dress is awesome!
Cool! We should have a blogger theme party one of these days :-)
This brings back fun memories of college, going to super cool Chicago thrift stores to find outfits for an '80s prom themed party.
And it makes me want to go put on something pink! I've been wearing my husband's t-shirts for two months now, which means everything has a sports team logo on it.
Oooo that dress is divine and it's screams of Spring!!! Love it! I recently found an AMAZING dining room table on ebay for pennies on the dollar. I sold my old table, bought the new one and have money left over. I LOVE my new table!!
