Spring Flowers in the Garden

Here are some signs of Spring from my woefully neglected garden-

I love crocuses, they are a favorite of the Spring bulbs. They are surrounded by pre-bloom lavender and white agapanthus.

The daffodils and grape hyacinth get along very well in the front flower bed.

Cyclamen just thrive in this north facing location by the front door.

Here is my Worm and Grub farm aka my compost pile. I live in an ancient riverbed with alkaline, clay soil so the rich dirt from the compost pile makes our trees and flowers very happy. Plus, it keeps our household waste from clogging up the landfill, always a bonus.

Thank you to all who expressed an interest in my therapy, I mean my garden. I wish you a wonderful Spring and hope you can enjoy some Spring flowers and get your hands dirty soon.

Awesome Martha! We just went for a walk. It's in the 50's here in the Midwest. Soggy, muddy, dormant grass and loads of litter from the winter. Little pokes of early bulbs here and there and some birds but that's about it. Thanks for sharing the pictures, gives me hope. Seems like spring will never come. Before long, I'll be complaining about the heat. lol

I am SO jealous.

In my old place we had a garden, now we have a concrete hall.

Beautiful! We're starting to see some buds poking up from the ground (the sedum is going crazy already) and my husband just spread some new mulch. Unfortunately, the possibility of snow and frost are still likely, so I hate to see things growing this early.

I wish we had a good space for a real compost pile. We can't put out any of our good food remnants, due to the large variety of critters that would come to visit. The raccoons made me very angry by eating the baby robins, so I do not welcome them anymore. Of course, maybe the coyotes would eat the raccoons, but I don't want that kind of carnage in my yard. Therefore, the orange peels and eggshells go down the disposal...to be composted elsewhere, I hope!

It looks like a luscious place that is well-loved and well-tended, even if you say it isn't.

Beautiful!

I thank you, Martha, especially for having been such a wonderful blog buddy. Sometimes when I thought of giving up because of lack of time, I would remember your sweet comments. It's wonderful to know that you're around.
