Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake and BAD Dog!!!

I made a double layer chocolate chip cookie cake for our son's 14th birthday party, but Unfortunately That is Not What is Pictured below. This picture is of a Brownie/Chocolate chip cookie cake made after the Top Layer of chocolate chip cookie was eaten by the Dog after it was decorated and sitting on the dining room table. Apparently Not Far Enough Away from the edge where the dog couldn't stand up and REACH IT and EAT IT!!!

(Rotten Dog!!! Bad Dog!! Dog for Sale!!! Good thing Dog is cute or Dog would be on the way to the glue factory. Grrr!)

Thank you to all who expressed an interest in how you make a chocolate chip cookie cake. To make a giant chocolate chip cookie, you make cookie dough for approximately 3 dozen cookies for each layer and bake it in a 13 inch aluminum pizza pan sprayed with cooking spray at 375 degrees for 20 minutes. Cool on a rack completely and then decorate as desired. For my brownie layer, I made a double batch of brownies and put them in a sprayed pizza pan and baked for 40 minutes. Let brownie cool in pan completely also. Keep cake far out of reach of four legged animals with poor self control.

As you can also see from the picture, I'm a baker, not a cake decorator. (Especially when I'm P.O.'ed and rushed.) Thank goodness the teenaged boys didn't seem to mind.

Did you say chocolate chip??? Now I've got cravings. Should never have read this post ;-) How could you possibly expect your dog to keep away? I'm on his side. Hope you had a lovely party!

I'm filing this one away for future reference.

Mmmmm. CC Cookies and brownies. I can see why your dog did what I want to do!

Happy bay, Daniel!

You're always one of the first people to support us along a post and for that I am so grateful. Thank you for always being there for us. It means more than you ever know.

That's why we have dogs that can't reach the counters :) Although, set your plate down for two seconds and they are hoovering whatever it is that was left unwittingly within their grasp.

That "cake" sounds downright heavenly. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Happy Dog! Sorry his unrestrained joy was at the expense of your hard work! Mine snagged a few Christmas cookies off the edge of the table last year. They can make their tongues 6 feet long if necessary!

OMG! I have said many times cause my dog has done lots of those kinds of things, "Dog For Sale!" He is a good protector and an overall good dog but boy does he try every trick in the book to get to food, very tall too. Arghhhh! Good thing that you were able to salvage some of it. Sounds delicious, then do you frost it?

Oh my G-d that dog looks like a teddy bear.

Like an actual Hallmark teddy bear.

He can eat my cake, too!

There is no way that dog did anything bad! look at him, he looks totally too innocent. Are you sure it wasn't Daniel sneaking in to the kitchen? I suspect the neighbors. there is no way it could have been Charley.

BTW....Hau'oli LaHanau to Daniel. Charley seems to have a blast at all the kids birthday parties, bounce house, now cake!

....and I agree with Muppet Soul... Charley does look like a big teddy bear, a big innocent teddy bear.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Aloha!

Awwwwwwwww! I hate it when that happens!

Was my dog at your house? Sammy eats everything not stored away that might hint of food. I bake hubby decorates. My stuff tastes good - his looks pretty. And I've discovered kids don't care. I'll have to try that recipe.
