Holy Crap Yet Another Reason to Compost

Here is a Traffic Alert or what is called a "SigAlert" that is in effect here in LA. Nothing too exciting or earth shaking about bad traffic in crowded Los Angeles. Until you read what is the Hazardous Material causing the freeway shutdown.

From California Highway Patrol website: Hazardous material spill closes 5 lanes

The northbound I-5 freeway at the 405 is the site of a SigAlert, after a late morning accident caused a spill that covered several lanes of traffic. Two traffic lanes and the truck lanes remain shut down, awaiting Caltrans cleanup crews. The substance, described as black and slippery, was initially thought to be tar, but was determined to be irradiated human waste. The waste is not hazardous and was on its way to be processed into fertilizer.

I am never buying fertilizer ever again.

It's gotta go somewhere, I suppose.

I just never thought it would be sprinkled on what becomes MY FOOD.

EWWWWWWW!!!!! Grossness!!! I'd say that is still hazardous if it's not safe to eat or rub on your skin. Right? Wondered if it stinks after being irradiated??? Gross! Have you seen those toilets that incinerate all waste? They are call Incinolets? Very interesting. Imagine the smoke? P.U.!

HAPPY COMPOSTING :)

I have to take the 405 later... I can't remember if I drive by the 5 exit!

Son of a bitch. Los Angeles traffic has finally out Los Angeles trafficked itself.

I'd hate to be the person who found out that the substance was black and slippery. Imagine how many baths they've taken today!

Well, that is just wrong...so wrong. Another reason to go organic, but then again, I guess that would be considered organic although GROSS! Ew....

Blargh! Eat organic!

This is totally disgusting. On a different note, I was in Los Angeles last week and so I actually know a few of the freeways now (someone mentioned the 405 and the 5 in her comments).

Glad this didn't happen while I was there. I LOVE Southern Cali and want to move there with every fiber of my being.
