Lost in Austen and Never Coming Back

I have been enjoying watching the "Lost in Austen" series on TV these last two nights. Elliot Cowan was very haute (smoking hot!!) as Mr.Darcy in this miniseries, a most worthy successor to Colin Firth. I don't watch much TV (yeah, right), but the TV I most enjoy is from the UK. In addition to this wonderful mix up of the Austen novels, another guilty pleasure of mine is the BBC show, "Hotel Babylon". This show is so addictive it should come with a warning label.

The Lost In Austen show reminded me of how much I love Jane Austen. To me there are three kinds of people in the world; those who adore Jane and all her work, people who live in remote tribes yet to be discovered by Western civilization, and the unenlightened.

My wonderful husband indulges my passion for All Things Austen including getting me this Jane Austen Action figure last year for Christmas. I mean, doesn't every forty-something female want her own literature hero action figure?

My Darling hubby again, exceeded all expectations with this year's lovely gift of my very own "I<3 Mr.Darcy"!! What a guy!!

Thank you for sharing in my Austenmania and my best to you for a little indulgence of your fancies and whims, especially if they include Mr.Darcy, Oh My!!

Yeah...hate to admit it, but I have never read anything by Jane Austen. I know, I know. Which planet have I been living on? LOL

Ooooh I didn't know they were doing that this week! Dang it, I missed it! I'll see if I can catch the tail end!?!

I'm a Jane Austen nut. Always have been. Have you read the book Austenland? Oh my I enjoyed it. It's no epoch novel, but it's enjoyable if you're a true fan of Jane's (and Mr Darcy)!

"Lost in Austen" is great isn't it???? When it was playing on BBC, someone put it on YouTube who then removed it and then I found it somewhere else. Every day after it was on BBC, I was getting my fix online. I really want to see when it's on our stations locally. It was so good, I'd love to get it on DVD to watch over and over. The main character's hair keeps bothering me though. I don't even like that style for modern times, LOL!

I'm also a BBC America junkie. I miss Footballers Wives big time!

I've been intrigued by Jane Austen since high school. A girl in my class was reading Mansfield Park and one of my most respected teachers told her to read it again when she was 30 and she would have a whole different perspective. So I read it when I was in my late 20's and was able to catch what he meant.

I also love BBC America, but unfortunately am unable to get the channel anymore. Sigh...British TV is so different.

Cool! I think I've seen a lot of Jane Austen goods in the Signals catalog. I need to see some of these, it sounds really good.
