My Neighborhood Fashion Mannequin

There is a house around the corner from mine which has a fashion mannequin prominently displayed in the front picture window. (What? You don't have one of these in your neighborhood?) Community legend says that the lady of the house is a retired Costume Designer for the movie studios and she still enjoys plying her craft. Here are a few of her designs which change about every other week, including new wigs and accessories. (Please double click to for a closer view.)

This is a fun Summer look complete with pastel mini dress and long scarf. Notice the bubble hemline which is quite cute, but what is up with those sleeves!

Nothing says "Welcome Home" like a Purple Dress with Gorilla Fur Inspired Accessories. (Right, Coco?)

This leopard print is my personal favorite. Grrrrr, Meow!

Our Fashion Stylist never misses a holiday, here is Miss Mannequin to wish you a Happy Independence Day.

Please do tell if you have any interesting characters in your neighborhood who express themselves in unique or creative ways. Thanks so much.

Hahaha! Seriously or is this a joke? It's like the leg lamp in A Christmas Story!

LOL, I'm not sure I can top this one. My neighbors are wierd but you would never know it from their houses.

We're not allowed to do anything to make ourselves stand out in my neighborhood (covenants, you know). But, down the street, there was a lady who had a huge flower garden and a flamingo flock (plastic) surrounding her house. The house is for sale now, so I assume she either had to go into assisted living or died.

I love the mannequin!

We don't in our neighborhood, but my MIL has three snowmen (they are big stuffed figurines) on her front porch that she dresses up for the different holidays (in the summer too). I'm sure right now they are all done up in red, white and blue hats, scarves and buttons.

I say this is what makes LA - LA! I love it!

Now that is interesting. But I used to live in that neighborhood, so I say surely there is something against the HOA about that. They were sure sticklers when I lived there way back when.

Ha HA. That would keep things interesting!

How funny is that!? In college I lived with a roomie that had a full size mannequin named Roxanne-we decorated her for Christmas. There were times she scared me to death!

Nice mannequin. I have a neighbor that's back from the war in Afghanistan. He likes to walk around the neighborhood with this walking stick that's taller than him, and we don't even lives in a woods or anything like that.

Tthat's pretty cool to have a neighbor who expresses herself in this way. Makes me want to buy a mannequin!

I got nothin' to compare, neighbor-wise.

Oh my goodness, that is too funny!
The only weirdos we have in our neighborhood are the neighbors down the street that always have five to seven cars in their driveway. I think they went in with friends to buy the house. ;0

That is CLASSIC! I have a co-worker that has a cardboard cutout of Ronald Reagan that he moves around the house and has been known to sit on the porch or in the front window!

LOL - That is toooo funny. Nothing nearly as interesting in my neighborhood. We do have a gestapo HOA, after all.

If I lived across the street from this I might not find this quite as fun to see! Love it! Maybe I'll do it just once to tease the neighbors...nah...not brave enough.
