"Weed" like to Welcome You to Weed pretty much sums it all up in this agricultural and timber town in Northern California. The name is its own attraction in our grass growing state.
Many of the restaurants, stores, and hotels in downtown Ashland, Oregon have water bowls for our four legged friends including this one outside the Ashland Springs Hotel. (I am intrigued by the doorbell (Dogbell?) on this "Dog Bar" and wonder if this is for the dog to ring to order a steak or burger from the hotel restaurant? Or some stronger libations besides water?)
Here is the California State Capitol Building in Sacramento, California. It is very reminiscent of the U.S.Capitol in Washington, D.C.
Old Town Sacramento reminds me of the French Quarter in New Orleans without the jazz or strip joints.

More adventures! I love the silliness of Weed - but I hope they're not missing out on an opportunity. I heard that CA is going to start taxing medical marijuana growers - and what better place to grow marijuana than in Weed? I'm sure they could use a new revenue source, if they're not already doing it!

Loved the waterbowl thing for the dogs. Sounds like my kind of town. I'll have to share with my kids at work about Weeds, CA. They'll have a laugh about that one. (and probably start planning to go there.)

I went to high school with a girl whose middle name was Weed. True story. We all thought it was because her parents were hippies. She denied it.

Cool pictures! Weed,huh? LOL I was only to California once for a convention. I BRIEFLY saw the ocean, and that was about it. My boss was not big on letting us do things. This was about 20 years ago. YIKES. I've never been to Oregon, but would love to go there!
