I have been tagged for the Premio Memio Award (My new name for this Award because I think it rolls off the tongue more easily) by the very kind and creative Glenna at Your Fabric Place which is my Fabric Place too! (Especially for Amy Butler addicts like me.)
The Premio Memio is to list ten things about yourself which is a cool because Ten is a very cool number.
1. I like to give nicknames including the liberal use of acronyms to my blog buddies and pretty much any animal I meet. Gee, isn't that gripping information?
Now, to add a little fun and show my relief at having only 9 more items to go, the rest are some of my celebrity sightings both Big and Small, well, actually miniscule, that I've had.)
2. Mr. Muhammad Ali gave me his autograph in the baggage claim at Las Vegas Airport twenty years ago.
3. We flew with Michael Jordan from Miami, (he was in first class, I was in the cattle car), and I mistook him at first for Magic Johnson. My husband instantly corrected me. (I'm not a basketball fan, but hey, I got the initials right, right?)
4. We saw many of the cast of HBO's Entourage on our flight back from Hawaii last Spring. Can I just tell you they are all pretty short except for Kevin Dillon? Sadly, Adrien Grenier wasn’t part of the group. Sigh.
5. I got checked out by Mel Gibson at the Warners Brothers lot when I was visiting my cousin for lunch at their Commissary. (Which has great food btw because all these TV and Film people live on their stomachs, plus the long days, yada yada.)
6. David Leisure is a former neighbor whose children competed in our community swim league. He was a great announcer for the meets as you can well imagine.
7. Ann Jillian reached her career peak in the 1980’s with the TV show, “It’s A Living” and still looked great when I saw her 15 years ago at LAX airport.
8. Clive Pearse, the host of HGTV’s show, “Designed to Sell” is very nice and an animal lover too. I met him and Lisa LaPorta from the show when they redid our neighbors' house which still hasn't sold after 6 months on the market. If someone offers to renovate your house for a home improvement show, don't agree to it. It may look great on camera, but in person, it's a slap dash job.
9. I went to school with Sarah Jessica Parker and her brothers, Toby and Pippin. They lived up the street from us in Cincinnati until they moved to New York to pursue Sarah’s career. Smart move, Mrs.Forsthye.
10. We are lucky enough to be friends and neighbors with one of the most feared men in horror movies, Michael Myers aka Tyler Mane, star of Rob Zombie's Halloween. (Halloween 2 is coming out soon, so I'm very happy for Tyler and his family. Except I won't be seeing it, those kind of movies scare the bejeebers out of me.)
Hoped for future sightings-
And for my Twilight Fanatics, I mean Fans, I am on the lookout and carry my camera for Tyler Lautner sightings who plays Jacob in Twilight and lives in our fair city of Santa Clarita.
Please consider yourself tagged if you would like to play along. Also, please share any of your celebrity sightings. (My fellow Los Angelenos, Jason and Muppet Soul have a boatload of celebrity sightings and are downright cool about them. Well, Except the Divine Miss M, right, Jason??) Thank you so much and I just realized I consider my Bloggy Buddies, Stars in the Truest Sense of the Word.

Wow! I can't compete with that! I could probably name you a bunch of NHL stars and tell you I was pulled u on stage with David Copperfield and David Letterman, but I think that is about it!!
Hey..I also don't have these many to list!! Avtually, if u r talking about hollywood..then no one!So I am scooting from the game. But it looks fun. Best of luck.
Thank you for dropping by. Keep coming.
When I was in 3rd grade, we had our "Tour of Chicago" field trip, and we drove past Muhammed Ali's house. He was outside, getting into the car with his daughters.
I was in Water Tower Place (premier mall in downtown Chicago) with some friends, and we saw Danny Devito on the opposite escalator. He waved at us.
I also walked past Luke Longley (former Chicago Bull) on Michigan Avenue one day. I'm kinda short, but still found it disconcerting that I only came up to his waist.
Plus I can play 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon with ease, due to the people who went to my high school.
Shared an elevator with "boys 2 men" but "No Autographs please" was the slogan announced by the body guards....
Antonio S. Jr. was in Hawaii for a thing and made it to the Restaurant my Sister and I shared....he is a beautiful man to look at, glad he has a new show.
couple of H.S. friends now in Hollywood, not super stars, but I see them in the background or doing supporting roles every once and awhile during my remote flipping.
The Jacksons at a MJ concert, including Magic Johnson (not Michael Jordan) =)
Kenny Rogers, while around 6 yrs old. He was part of the PR my father did to promote the resort in the Cook Islands "The Rarotongan Hotel" He shook the hand of our family...except me. He has been on my bad side ever since.
The King and Queen of Rarotonga. They even gave a name for my little sister that is on her birth certificate....that is the coolest. It is a connection due to my fathers job as the head of the hotel that brought the biggest amount of economic stability to the 32 square mile island.
Thats all....=)
Ohh! I almost forgot: Squeak Scolari the character from that "stupid" movie Baseketball......I never watched it. I went to our very good friends wedding that he happened to be attending as well. I was in line for the bathroom and he was directly in front of me. Instead of staring ahead in proper protocol, he turned around and stared directly at my breasts for a good 1-2 minutes. Finally I asked him "What are you staring at" when he joyfully said "don't you know who I am?"......I said yes, but what does that matter?... I think he got angry. yuck! btw he is like 4 feet(in my imagination) and I am 5'10 (in reality). Gross! I don't like him very much.
Wow, you are like SO connected to celebrity! Impressive. :)
I saw Mr. T's limo driving on the highway. And I also saw Jerry Springer walking down the street in Chicago. I touched a doorknob that Tom Cruise touched while filming "The Firm" in Grand Cayman. (While he was filming the movie, not me, of course.) I can't remember any others...
Why does this topic always give me butterflies? They're just people like you and me, right?
I love that you still remember my experience with the Divine Miss M!
I'm so disappointed that the HGTV people didn't do a better job!
Ten things hun?
Well I live in LA and have worked in Hollywood for the past 17 years so my name drpping list can go on and on. So for the starstruck, I'll just make the bonfire of the vanities all #1.
1. Worked for Will Smith for 6 years, I have several photos taken with Ali, Mario Van Peeples invited me to hang out with him one night in Chicago while working a a film, I spent some time being social with Halle Berry, Steve Harvey tried to pick me up one afternoon on Universal's lot, blah,blah,blah...
2.I took French lessons a few years ago to prepare for a trip to the south of France - all only to have spoken with a gardener. Although I struggled throughout the conversation he understood me.
3.In spite of losing most of the use of the left side of my body due to a stroke, I can make fantastic muffins!
4. I bought my first property when I was collecting unemployment.
5. I graduated from only being able to walk in sneakers to walking in shoes with low heels.
6.I can type about 20 words a minute with my right hand.
7.I can recite a tongue twister filled with "S's" without cursing.
8. Can get through a day without taking things personally.
9. I'm still an excellent driver, with and without adaptive handicapped equipment.
10. I'm a pretty good friend.
Whew!
Can't say I've had celeb sightings. They don't seem to hang out in my neck of the woods.
Come on Jason! I wanna know about the Divine Miss M!
Wow! School with SJP and saw the cast of Entourage? Nice!
That's a lot of celebrities, although I feel really old and/or out of it, cause I didn't know what you were talking about half the time... Oh well.
Hmmm...my husband and I met Gallagher on our plane to LAX on the way to our Maui honeymoon. The film "Airborne" (think Seth Green way back when) was filmed behind my high school, as was the movie "Milk Money". My friend Carolyn was an extra and makes a cameo on Airborne.
My Quebecois friend Marie-Claude is in the Quebec film La Grande Seduction- there are several close-ups of her.
I met Jerry Springer in the 6th grade. Back then he was a successful, and Pulitzer Prize winning, newscaster in my hometown of Cincinnati. He was doing a speech at our school Enrichment Day. Bet they wouldn't ask him back now.
I met Dan Quayle at a Republican fundraiser back in the day. I'm not a Rep, but my babysitter and her family are bigwigs in my state.
If I bumped into Adrian Grenier, I would probably lick him. Yum!
I ran (literally) into Michael Jordan at our local Longs Drugstore a few years back. Very random.
