I have been busier than I'd like to be but it's all wonderful stuff and from which I continue on the Merry Go Round. (See, off the Roller coaster, onto a kinder amusement ride.)
Our family had a great time skiing up at Mammoth Mountain in the Eastern Sierra Nevada. Gorgeous fresh powder and blue skies, perfect except for my creaky knees and the realization that I can't do Everything that I used to do as a kid, Or enjoy it as much as I did, and That's okay. Next vacation I want to go someplace where I won't get altitude sickness or wear four layers of clothing.
We also had a delightful visit this past week with Mrs.Spit and I have a new found appreciation for a true shoe connoisseur. I am in awe of someone who increases her shoe population of 86 pairs approximately 10% with her purchase of 8 shoes in two days. California is most appreciative of her economic stimulus.
I am back in the saddle again with work and happy to be caught up with the help of my colleagues. Being sick isn't for sissies, that's for sure. Neither is being a Case Manager for the medically fragile. (I am still waiting for my Certification Exam results btw, apparently it could take another two weeks for my results!! I took the exam 6 weeks ago, ack, what can you do??)
My oldest son and I will be leaving this Friday for an overnight trip to San Diego where he is performing with his high school Show Choir. We are excited, my parents are coming to see him perform for the first time.
Thank you for sharing in this little Go Round with me, and I send my best for your best amusement no matter what ride you're on.

I hope you passed your exam. Good luck to you.
Sounds like you had a good time!
When my 1st husband and I got married I transferred 68 pairs of shoes to our apartment.
I think I own about 8 pair now. I think I need some updated shoe-shopping lessons!
@ Karen, I'm free for tutorials.
And Martha, I seem to recall at least a few came home with you last week.
(3 more pairs arrived in the mail while I was gone. I may have a problem . . .)
if you head down the 15, wave to me on your way to San Diego; sounds like a fun trip for you and your son!!
wow, you think they would be able to process that test by now.....must be nerve racking while you wait for the results
I think I'm on the water ride, LOL; when I least expect it, I seem to get drenched :)
betty
Love this post. Case manager for the "medically fragile" sounds a bit overwhelming to me. Congratulations to you for choosing that path. The "economic stimulus" is hilarious. Wonder if Obama might be willing to work that into the federal budget!?
Have a fantastic weekend. Sorry I forgot to let you know your comment is in "Commenters Say The Darndest Things" Feel free to vote(why not?)
Good to have you back with us. How did your exam go?
I'd dearly love to prop up the local economy in such a way - since my last op 3 years ago I've become obsessed with shoes.
It will be lovely for your parents to see your son perform, I even love school productions in which nieces and nephew got to 'play' a tree - you'll have to tell us all about it.
Your skiing reminds me of my biking - the body just isn't what it used to be - and I am more out of shape than I thought ;0(
Sounds like some good fun though - enjoy show choir.
Have fun this weekend in San Diego and congrats to your son!
Skiing and shopping for shoes - can't beat those activities!
Argh! How long can it take to grade an exam???? What's taking so long??? Eh, who cares? I know you did great, so waiting for the confirmation is just a formality.
Have a great time in San Diego! I'm sure your son will do wonderfully!
Glad the skiing went well. How's the knees?
I had to laugh at 86 pairs of shoes and 8 more to add to them. I'm amazed at the thought of where to keep so many!!
Good luck to you son with his school choir. I hope it all goes well :)
glad you've been doing well.. been missing you!
That seems like such a long wait for a computer-based exam- my reply time was only 2 weeks. No doubt you passed with flying colors!
