Whew, Glad that's over

Whew, I am glad my wisdom teeth are Out and I do NOT Recommend this unless you absolutely have to have it done. Oh, and please if you need your wisdom teeth out, it is better to do it when you are younger as my oral surgeon repeatedly told me during our preop consultation. I finally turned to him and said, "Doc, do you have a time machine in the back? Because I can't change the fact my childhood dentist told me I had enough room for these suckers."

Thank goodness for Nitrous Oxide aka Laughing gas. It made me laugh and I also had a crying jag. Fun, Fun. I realize I much prefer being the caregiver instead of the patient, but I reached a point as the doctor was wiggling my teeth from their firmly ensconced home, that you just have to give into the process. I am now recovering with my ice packs, soup, and pain killers. My family is very attentive and so not used to seeing me down and out. (Well, maybe not so down and out, I made it to my computer, right?)

I would like to thank Muse Swings for this Christmas Spirit Award and would like to extend this award to all my bloggy buddies who share their spirit through good times and bad with grace and wit. Mazel Tov!

Happy New Year to you and your loves. I wish you all the best for a Wonderful 2009.

Martha! You did it! I like what you told the Dr. Tell him to just charge what it would have cost way back then. Put your feet up and nap in the new year.

Ha! I required general anesthetic for my impacted wisdom teeth at age 18. Of course, everyone knew at age 5 that I would have to have my wisdom teeth and some others removed, but that didn't make it easy to get them out!

Well, I hope your mouth heals fast.

Happy New Year!

I'm so glad that you are ok. That's a big thing to have done. I had to go under to get mine done.

ack, what a thing to do on the last day of the year!!! hope you feel better soon and that your recovery is swift and painless. i had mine out when i was in my early 30's... one of them had a cavity and the dentist wouldn't fix it. so i had to get all of them pulled... talk about a waste of three good teeth!

Oh God,
My heart is with you. I need to have mine out. They are rotting on the sides and need to come out. My dentist has told me every time I go for years. I am still breastfeeding and then hopefully want to conceive soon too. Those are my excuses. I will turn 36 this February and know that that fact alone will not help the whole process. Hope that you recover quick. Did they at least let you keep them for the tooth fairy? Or to have gold plated and hang around your neck??? I'm hopeful for either :)

I feel guilty cuz I'm nervous about going to the dentist on Monday to get my teeth cleaned. Hope those guys are pampering you at home.

I had mine out after my boys were born, yuck! One of them rotted on me! I wouldn't get put out so I had them dig them out in the dentist's office! Yes dig!

I hope they came out easily and you are all healed up soon!

Take care and I hope you have some good soup!

Happy New Year!!!

So sorry the wisdom teeth had to come out. I had it done when I was 23. Painkillers were a beautiful thing.
