In the center of this photo is The Marion Davies Estate (which served as the Guest House) at the former William Randolph Hearst's Beach Compound. The building is newly restored and open to the public for tours.
This is the newly built Santa Monica Community Beach House built on the footprint of William Randolph Hearst's mansion which is represented by the tall white pillars that are the same size and configuration of the pillars of his mansion.
(I just love these orange umbrellas, market umbrellas make me inexplicably happy.)This is the view looking west onto the Pacific Ocean.
