Welcome to The Hotel Del Coronado- Such a Lovely Place

Finally, some photos from our stay at the Hotel del Coronado-

View from the second floor lobby.

Here's the courtyard of the Victorian building which is rumored to be haunted with a guest of 120 years ago, a Katie Morgan who died on the premises. Now according to our amateur ghost whisperers aka our boys, poor Katie Morgan wanders the halls, moaning, "Oh, why can't I check out? Oh why??"
View from our room, no, Life doesn't suck.

There was perfect surf for the boys' first surf lesson. Unfortunately, our youngest sons's lesson ended when he got stung by a stingray, Ouch!
Gratuituous cute picture of our dog, Charley who misses us so whenever we go away. He's a living teddy bear who looks like a little golden lamb in this photo.

Please think a good thought

Please think a good thought for our nephew, G. as he fights a potentially devastating Multiple Sclerosis flare. Thank you in advance for your < 3, positive energy, and prayers. They are most appreciated and very helpful.

The Cereal Killer has left the building

It has been a wonderful and busy June for our family, especially for our youngest son, S. He finished his first season playing Flag Football, had a great time, and looks forward to playing next year. This is how we define a successful season. Winning first place is just an added bonus. At our team party, we had a cake from a favorite local bakery to celebrate. It is always a risk to order your cake over the phone from those for whom English is a second language. So, Go Viking!!! (Now, just which Viking would that be???)

S. also "promoted"* from the 6th Grade at the elementary school. He has been there since kindergarten (7 years), and we are so ready to move on, especially after the school yard duty ladies made him turn his Cereal Killer tshirt inside out because Cereal Killer invokes violence. Yes, really! Guns Don't Kill People, Puns Do. This is the same school where the teacher requested No Weaponry in a World War II report.

Overall, S. received a great education and preparation for transition to Junior High School. However, I hope at S.'s new school, they won't suffer from a shortage of commas.

*Politically correct term for "graduation" from anything other than kindergarten, high school, and college.

Family from Philly

I will be in bloggy posting and comment slow-mo for the next several days as my dear sister and her family from Philly are visiting. We have lots of fun things planned including a visit to Santa Monica Beach and 3rd Street Promenade, dinner reservations at wonderful Rivera restaurant, yummy meals out and in including steak and grilled veggies on the BBQ, homemade quiche with squash blossoms and heirloom tomatoes compliments of my darling hubby, a boat outing to a local lake, and a minor league baseball game for the fellas while my sister and I antique or attend a hot air balloon festival. I am looking forward to our visit as we don't get to see each other often enough living on opposite sides of the U.S.

I hope you have a great rest of your day and week too, thanks for stopping by.
