Cars from The Movies for Almost Wordless Wednesday

I love classic cars, (the side effect of having been raised by two older brothers), and I still have my collection of matchbox cars from 40 years ago. (They are a most prized possession as having been the toys that I shared with my late brother.) The Stingray Corvette was a much fought over favorite.

So, I was quite delighted to come across this Classic Car Show being held just a few blocks from my house. In addition to the sports cars and coupes, there was an impressive cast of Cars from the Movies including-

The Dukes of Hazzard Car, The General E. Lee, just for some Good Ol' Boys.

The Back to The Future Car, A DeLorean, made in Ireland. (The owner was surprised that I knew this fact. Well, like, ummm, doesn't everybody know That??)

A Pink Cadillac for the Pink Ladies of Grease.

The youngest cast member, Lightening McQueen from Pixar's Cars.

How about you? Seen any cool cars lately, either classic or new? We just saw a blue Bentley and black Ferrari in the last week while cruising in our uncool minivan.
Thank you so much.

how cool Martha that the car show was so close to you! looks like all great cars!! how neat too to have that Hot Wheel collection; I'm sure it does bring back lots of wonderful memories!

we don't see that many "cool" cars here inland but when we lived along the coast it was so commonplace to see all those fancy cars (LOL)

stay cool if you can!

Its great that you still have your collection of cars from your childhood. Do you still add to it?

A real nostalgic post, I haven't thought of some of these programmes for years. My favourite must be the car from Grease though - one of my all time favourite films, I can picture the pink ladies in it.

My husband just bought a TON of matchbox cars at an auction (seriously - 6 boxes - I think they hold 48 cars each), and my girl loves them. She takes them out and lines them up across the living room - gives them names and personalities. I think she'll be a huge car lover.

Love the car show pictures...I didn't know Deloreans were made in Ireland!

That looked like a really cool show! I loved the pink car from Grease. I love old cars from the 1940s - those would be my favorites. In August we have the Woodward Dream Cruise here in Detroit which showcases old cars, although not really famous ones like you displayed. It is a fun show and our new house is 2 blocks from woodward which is a blast :-)

There is a regular classic car club that meets in a parking lot nearby once a month. Just saw a Model-T last week.

We are big classic car fans around here too!

Hubs has a 1938 Chevrolet that he treats like a third child and a 1964 Red Corvette that he treats like a girlfriend!
