As is our usual fashion, we had lots of food, great food- spanakopita, lasagna, Greek salad, home made pizza, roast peppers, lemon chicken, grilled duck breast with lavender sauce, lamb lollipops, bruschetta, among many other yummies.

I made a white nectarine tart with an easy recipe from Food and Wine Magazine. It turned out delish with the most basic and fresh ingredients. I also scored by finding this tart pan for a buck at our local thrift store.

Luckily, I've been burning off a few calories gardening, including lots of flowering plants in containers.
(I feel a lot of responsibility when I garden in planters, like I am adopting a plant "pet" that is completely dependent on me for all its needs- soil, sun, water, pruning, feeding, drainage. It's different then when I transplant plants into the soil, it's like they are more independent.)Thank you so much for your visit and please let me know what you've been up to, foodwise, gardenwise, or any wonderful (or not so wonderful) thing. (I am an equal opportunity blogger with broad shoulders and decent listening skills).
I also wanted to sincerely thank, acknowledge, and show abundant appreciation to my fellow teammates at The Motivation Station blog. They, along with all my other dear, dear bloggy friends, have been a major source of inspiration, perspiration, and Motivation this past year. Happy One Year Birthday, TMS!!! High 5 and a Booty bump!! Please stop by The Motivation Station and consider becoming a follower, we are trying to reach 100 followers. And we are thisclose to 100, so thank you!

What an exciting theme. Is there any chance of an invite to next years celebrations?
I need to be a friend and neighbor..anyone who lives in close proximity to you. I need to partake in these events!
All of that food looks very yummy!
Wow - you guys go all out for your celebrations, don't you? That looks like it was incredible! I'm making some bruschetta tonight - tomatoes from my "garden," basil from my MIL's. Yum
I know how you feel about the containers! Well, sort of - they make me stressed, so I try to figure out a way to get those plants in the ground ASAP so they can fend for themselves. Otherwise, I just forget to water them once or twice, and then they stare at me reproachfully with their withered, sad faces...
I should NOT have clicked over before lunch.
Yum! Wish we lived closer together. You give good parties!
oh wow!
that food looks great.. and the colorful decorations are great!!!
You give great party!
Booty bump right back at ya baby :-)
This all looks so great!
Oooooh Martha, I love the festive ceiling on the porch, it was the first thing I noticed before I read that it was put up special for the party. If only I were in California again where the weather would be more predictable and pleasant.....ahhh, but Pittsburgh has its moments too. =)
By the way, me and plants have an understanding....I can come to see them and visit them and even try to take care of them....as long as someone else is in charge of their overall health and happiness. I am sweet and tender but often forget about the poor greenies.
Your party looks wonderful and sounds yummy! Wish I had some friends out here who would appreciate that. I'm constantly trying new recipes - last night was a three bean soup in the crock pot - the kids loved it.
Hoo boy, that food looks so good.
The mister and I have been having date nights at our local foodie hangout (Naked garlic, Schaffenberger Hot Cocoa, duck and balsamic steak). I've also been making Kris' Mushroom Risotto that she posted on the Motivation Station at least once a week. Once I figured out how to make it creamy and smooth, we have been unable to resist making it regularly.
I love it, a themed pot luck! It all looked so fantastic. Both food and decor. Hope ya'll had a blast!!!
God bless and have a marvelous day!!!
Wow--it looks like a great time!
