These last few weeks have been just like what Dickens said-
It was the best of times-
Seeing Van Morrison and his band perform at the Greek Theater, they are world class musicians who still have the heart of an Irish pub band.
Going to our oldest son's Fall Concert where he had multiple singing solos and performed in the Dance Ensemble.
Listening to our youngest son beamingly tell us that his Art teacher said he is "an A+ student".
It was the worst of times-
Having a patient attempt suicide and supporting her in picking up the pieces.
Learning of the suicide of a sibling of a dear friend from high school.
Going to the funeral for the Grandmother of our youngest son's best friend.
It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to heaven, we were all going direct the other way - in short, the period was so far like the present period, that some of its noisiest authorities insisted on its being received, for good or for evil, in the superlative degree of comparison only. Charles Dickens, A Tale of Two Cities
English novelist (1812 - 1870)

I'm glad that you have some good to balance out the bad. I'm sorry for your losses.
I'm sorry Martha, I know these things must have worn on you.
Glad to hear about the good.
Sorry and sad to hear about the bad.
I've missed you and just wanted to stop by and say hello!!! And hoping all was well in Marthaland.
xoxo
Life is certainly bitter sweet. Glad to hear that there has been some good amongst such sorrow.
normally.. life never can be JUST PERFECT...
happy for you for the good days.. and thinking of ya for the bad ones..
That is terribly upsetting. You just described perfectly the ups and downs of how life plays its game.
Doesn't like just throw it all at ya with both hands sometimes. Ya don't know whether to laugh or cry. It's always comforting to know God's in charge and He knows what he's doin'!!!
God bless ya and have an extraordinarily good day!!!
I celebrate with you in the good and offer big hugs and a shoulder for the bad.
